01About

I like the hard, unglamorous problems — the ones tangled in regulation, legacy systems, and a dozen stakeholders who all want different things.

Over 5+ years I've owned roadmaps end to end in enterprise HR and mobility: translating frontline operational needs into specifications, winning cross-functional buy-in, and steering delivery through to launch — including integrations between cloud systems and physical hardware.

I'm technical enough to write SQL, read an API, and reason about system design — and I use that to sit comfortably between business and engineering rather than handing off and hoping. I'm evidence-driven, calm under ambiguity, and slightly obsessed with getting the requirements right the first time. Right now I'm focused on digital product, IT project, and systems-analyst roles in pharma and life sciences.

A payroll-grade compliance engine, translated from law to code

Taiwan's flexible-working-hours labour law fed directly into payroll, so errors weren't an option. I owned the end-to-end redesign — interviewing HR managers to close the gap between how the law is written and how employers actually operate, mapping the dependency chain across 100+ API endpoints, and designing a dual-track architecture so customers could migrate on their own timeline. I defined the test matrix and a phased rollout with compliance checkpoints.

Scaling an IoT platform to a million users

On a mission-critical telemetry platform, the failures lived in the seam between physical hardware and cloud — and nobody owned it. I decoupled hardware-in-the-loop tests from cloud logic, enforced layered versioning across firmware, middleware and APIs, and standardised edge-case simulations for packet loss and latency. Deployment failures and team overtime dropped by a third.

Product analytics, built from zero

Decisions ran on intuition because there was no analytics infrastructure. I set data-integrity principles, partnered with the DBA to design the pipeline and event schema, and built a customer-segmentation model. The first findings contradicted our sales strategy — and re-prioritised the roadmap around the segments that actually mattered.

ClearConsent — a compliance document scanner

A retrieval-augmented (RAG) app that answers questions about consent and privacy documents against EU data-protection requirements — grounding every answer in cited source text. Shipped full-stack, solo, to get hands-on with applied AI and the GDPR thinking regulated industries run on.

Dublin Bikes — availability prediction

A bike-sharing app that integrates the JCDecaux and OpenWeather APIs and feeds an ML model to predict station availability. I owned sprint planning, the open-data pipeline, the backend and the UI/UX.
